Poetry Street: A Mother’s Tale |Poem by Ellie

The Stranger's Wall

image

A Mother’s Tale

Such slimy beauty near a lake,
My darling child you will be secured in my arms,
The mermaid’s Den will be our little kingdom.

Holding you in my arms my little one don’t be afraid,
Of humans beings and their life baits,
Your father was killed in a tragic tale,
Of demonic fishermen wanting fame and fortune.

We shall live in exile in the depths of the lake,
With little worries and some mermaid’s tune,
We will keep close with others like us,
But trust no one in the eyes of the Sirens’ Blood.

Sincerely,
Ellie
