The Road Home

Entirety in Bits and Pieces

She took the road

Groomed with trees on either side

Still naked from winter

Bark white as snow

They are here to witness

The prodigal return home

So she can confess her sins

The ones she held tight

In worry over judgment

Ones she barely comprehends herself

With arms wide

And hearts attuned

They heard her story

And wept as well

So who she was yesterday

Was gone today

This was evident in their passing

She is still unsure they understand

But she knows she is loved

And wanted just the same
